Several studies have shown that fertility rates for women decrease at around 3% each year after the age of 30. However from 1980-2002, fertility rates across the world for women over 30 were actually increasing overall. We have better nutrition, better access to assisted conception, better medical care overall. In wealthier nations, people are now healthier overall and likely to be more fertile for longer periods of their lives. And for many, after age 30 is a better time in their lives to have children!
